1. Passengers are not allowed to enter.
- This does not apply to:
- nationals and permanent residents of Mongolia;
- nationals of Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Germany, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People's Dem. Rep., Malaysia, Philippines, Russian Fed., Serbia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and USA;
- passengers with a Hong Kong (SAR China) passport;
- passengers with a Macao (SAR China) passport;
- nationals of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China (People's Rep.), Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea (Dem. People's Rep.), Korea (Rep.), Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Peru, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkmenistan and Viet Nam with a diplomatic passport;
- passengers with a British diplomatic passport;
- nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Colombia, India, Korea (Dem. People's Rep.), Korea (Rep.), Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Slovenia and Viet Nam with an official passport;
- nationals of Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, China (People's Rep.), Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Hungary, Indonesia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and Turkmenistan with a service passport;
- passengers with a visa issued by Mongolia.
2. Passengers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point.
- This does not apply to:
- passengers younger than the minimum age required for a COVID-19 test in the departure country;
- deadheading crew.
3. Passengers are subject to quarantine at designated facilities for 7 days, followed by self-isolation for 7 days. Details can be found at https://tabinfo.mn/en/tab/ .
- This does not apply to:
- passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival. They are subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival and self-isolation for 14 days;
- passengers with a positive COVID-19 test and a recovery certificate issued at most 4 months before arrival. They are subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival and self-isolation for 14 days.

International Restrictions
Entry to Mongolia
All international commercial flights and rail are suspended until at least 31 May 2021. All road border crossings to and from Russia are closed to foreign nationals. Borders between China and Mongolia are closed.
The Mongolian government has indicated it may allow foreign nationals to travel to Mongolia on incoming charter flights if they meet certain criteria (a valid long-stay visa, permanent residency or short-term business visas). All incoming passengers are required to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival and either:
• Present valid evidence of having received a full vaccination course against COVID-19and then to self-isolate after arrival for 7 days. Or,
• Undertake 7 days quarantine in an approved hotel. PCR tests will be taken on the 5th and 7th days of quarantine. No further isolation will be required if those tests return negative results.

Internal Restrictions
Travel in Mongolia
Precautionary measures introduced by the Mongolian authorities include:
• restrictions on public gatherings
• fines for not wearing a mask in public
• the suspension of all international commercial air and rail routes until at least 31 May 2021. You should check the status of any upcoming flights or trains into and out of Mongolia with your airline/booking agent
• the closure to foreign nationals of road crossings between Mongolia and Russia
• the closure of all borders between China and Mongolia until further notice
• the cancellation of all domestic flights
In addition to the above, the Government of Mongolia has placed the country under an “Orange Level” status, or “partial heightened state of readiness”. Orange restrictions include the banning of traffic from Ulaanbaatar to other provinces until 22 May and the closure of bars, tourist resorts and gyms. Restaurants are permitted to serve takeaway food only.
Accommodation
Limited hotels are open. You will likely need to wear a mask in indoor public areas of your accommodation, and your temperature may be checked upon entry. Hotels need to carry out regular cleaning and sanitising measures as per government guidance.
Public places and services
You may be fined if you do not wear a mask in public. Other restrictions are summarised in the Travel in Mongolia section above.
